The Rolling Stones are still a thing, Mick Jagger and all, as far as I know. It honestly cracks me up that folks around the age of my folks are still donning leather & makeup and dancing with microphones. Cher in the Macy’s parade promoting her new album after her farewell tour? No wonder we don’t take them seriously.
Anyway… the Fall adventure for our group has been mom’s health. We happily report that yesterday’s doctor visit held news of no kidney stones. The path to, and out of, surgery was …memorable… but it seems all is now well, at least there. They’ll check again in one year.
Cardiology and Hematology still want to understand findings of a weak heart and dropping platelet count. That continues, but overall physical health is still improving.
As for Dad’s knee adventure, it’s not slowing him down much (little really does). He reports that it still hurts some, but nothing like a few weekends ago. His eyes are also improving. It turns out that having an allergic reaction to eye medicine is unhelpful. They gave him another prescription and that started the healing process.
That leaves my fun, a cataract. It basically means I need a driver or a place to stay after dark. In Albany, it’s easy to find a ride to “just up the street,” but it’s putting quite the dent in visiting, evening shopping, and cruising for Christmas lights. We’ll deal with that in January.
We expect a Merry Christmas after all. May yours be as well.
I wonder if Mick goes caroling…hmm…
