First Few Drops of Rain

It is said that when praying for rain, the faithful bring an umbrella. Well, we’ve been praying, a few drops have fallen this week, and I’m watching for more.

Last weekend, a gentleman heard about our prayer request for help in finding donors/sponsors and volunteered to be part of the answer. It was a joy and blessing to meet with him Monday and we’ll meet again tomorrow. He has 26 years of experience in fundraising, plans to come alongside us as coach for the long-haul, and his enthusiasm is contagious. He’s definitely an answer to prayer.

Recently, a small church in Anderson put the word out that they want to find speakers for their monthly mission service. A string of connections led to contacting our office manager on Tuesday requesting a speaker for Wednesday (yesterday). Several congregation members had another event on their calendar, so the presentation was short, fast, and packed full. The Holy Spirit was there, as invited, and all went to their next event blessed and praising God for His goodness (my definition of success). We’re invited to return in July. Pray that the Holy Spirit attends once again – we can do nothing of worth without Him.

As a bonus, some of the folks at the church are looking for places I could move to in Anderson, reducing my commute by 40%. That would be another answer to prayer.

As I see it, God’s beginning to show what He’s been preparing all this time…  We prayed for rain, and drops are falling…grab an umbrella!
