Only if you hold the map wrong. I’m actually travelling Northeast, which is East & up. This morning I spent some time at DeGray State Park in Arkansas. Turns out the lodge rooms run about $100/night, so I resumed driving. But not before a short stop at the end of the swimming area:
Swimming is roped off a bit higher along the path, and even further up sit picnic tables overlooking the water. A lovely stop if you’re in the area.
