The last post said I was headed for Houston… not so fast… If you’ve been watching the news, you’re likely aware of fires at a chemical plant. Things were getting pretty dicey, and my family was concerned that I should stay away a bit longer. I returned to Plano.
Church this morning was timely and well fitting. A traditional service at a Baptist (hearing) church, because the Deaf church I attended several visits ago is no longer there. I remember them being concerned about another congregation that was struggling…it happens to too many. Anyway, this morning’s music selections were on God’s holiness and His faithfulness, as well as the importance of trusting Him. The sermon focused on believing Jesus, from the account of Lazarus’ resurrection and our attitude in waiting for His perfect timing.
A sponsor provided for me to spend another week in Arlington. A few people at the ministry thought I’d be volunteering for another week – turns out they were right. I’m looking forward to a pleasant surprise for everyone. I’m also looking forward to making a dent in the one task left undone and perhaps following up on another – a coding challenge (my favorite kind!).
After a week here at a lovely Chilean home, I’ll make my way to Houston to explore the ministry and opportunity there. (Did I mention I like Air BnB?)
Thank you for your encouragement and prayers as I make myself available to learn and pursue what’s next.
