One Day (give or take)

I’ve got one day to pack & move a bedroom full of well-tucked stuff. It seems to be how I do things….heroic chaos… one big push to git-r-done. There’s also the schitz-planning that swings from meticulous detail to dump-n-go, usually as I figure out I’ve surrendered my margin.

During this sabbatical, it is one of my goals (again) to develop the discipline of margin. Not necessarily empty down time without a plan – I’m a pro at that. I need focused down time…empty spaces built into every day and dedicated to quiet… deliberate discarding of toxic thoughts & recording of useful insights. I am painfully aware that I can no longer count on mental notes – they get lost, misfiled, even shredded. I need to build a space for putting those in a more tangible format.

But first (there’s always a “but first”), I need to prepare for the first wave of help that’ll join me for breakfast in 9 hours. Then again, maybe I’ll just go to bed – the heroic chaos teams will appreciate a less frazzled me.
